About Us
During Ipack-Ima, the international trade fair specialized in packaging and processing, the White Paper entitled ‘Flowpack: the most with the least. High protection with low impact‘ was presented.
The technical-scientific publication edited by Beatrice Lerma and Doriana Dal Palù, researchers in Design of the Politecnico di Torino, and published by Edizioni Ambiente s.r.l., is representative of a particular historical moment in which attention to sustainability and environmental issues are the starting point for any possible reflection on the future. The idea for the White Paper came from an intuition of Riccardo Cavanna, current president of UCIMA as a representative of the supply chain.
The aim of the working group, which has gathered around it a wide community of stakeholders at multiple levels, ranging from the academic world, film production, packaging machinery, distribution, disposal and recovery of post-consumer raw materials and beyond, is to reflect on the current and future scenarios of production, use and end-of-life of flow wrap packaging, to generate culture on the importance of packaging, but also to deepen and learn about the opportunities offered by technologies for a true circular economy.
Our values and our mission
MISSION: Our goal is to build an extensive network of stakeholders within the flexible flow wrap packaging supply chain. A team effort to retrace history and study together the possible actions to be taken for the future, thus reaching the zero objective of FLOW WRAP TO FLOW WRAP.
VISION: We want to cross as many borders as possible, to reach every single home, to the heart of all the consumers who every day buy and consume products thanks to the work of the entire flow wrap packaging chain, to be able to convey the love for the Planet that surrounds us and the civic duty to preserve it to ensure a better place for future generations.
The dream we want to come true is to see no more packaging dispersed in the environment from the unawareness of the damage it can produce.
We are only at the beginning of a journey towards the circular economy, which we want to travel together.
